RAYVILLE, La. – Entergy Louisiana has officially broken ground on the Smalling Substation, a major piece of grid infrastructure that will connect Meta’s newest and largest data center, currently under construction in Richland Parish.

The substation, which will be funded by Meta in its entirety, will play a central role in delivering electricity to the $10 billion facility, which spans more than 4-million square feet and represents one of the largest private investments in Louisiana history. The Smalling Substation will cover about 55 acres and connect to high-voltage power lines that bring energy from across the region and deliver it to the Meta site.

“Today is another tremendous milestone for Louisiana,” said Phillip May, president and CEO of Entergy Louisiana. “This is more than just an investment in infrastructure, it’s an investment in the people, businesses and communities of our state. Entergy Louisiana is proud to partner with Meta to bring this vision to life and support a project that will help shape the region’s future for decades to come.”

At the peak of construction, the entire project is expected to employ around 6,000 workers. The scale of the project is expected to bring a major boost to the local economy and lay the groundwork for future development.
The project is just one part of Entergy Louisiana’s larger effort to modernize its electric system to enhance resiliency and attract more major economic development opportunities, like Meta, for the benefit of all customers across the region.
Entergy’s partnership with Meta is expected to not only power cutting-edge technology, but also drive long-term economic growth, create jobs and lower costs for customers throughout the state.

Entergy Texas proposes major transmission investments to power Southeast Texas growth /news/entergy-texas-proposes-major-transmission-investments-to-power-southeast-texas-growth Thu, 26 Jun 2025 22:11:13 +0000 /?p=18107 THE WOODLANDS, Texas – With Texas leading the nation in population growth, the demand for reliable electricity has never been higher. As new families and businesses move into Southeast Texas, Entergy Texas is proposing two major transmission projects to help ensure the region has the infrastructure it needs to grow—and to keep the lights on during everyday use and extreme weather.

The company recently filed two proposals with the Public Utility Commission of Texas: the , more commonly known as SETEX, and the . These transmission lines will improve how electricity moves across Southeast Texas—boosting capacity for new homes and businesses, reducing the risk of outages, and supporting job creation and investment in the region. They’ll also enhance grid resiliency by adding geographic diversity—helping the system better withstand extreme weather—and ensure compliance with federal reliability standards set by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation.

If approved, the SETEX project would add a new 500-kV transmission line to the western portion of Entergy Texas’ 27-county service area, connecting new substations in Newton and Montgomery counties and spanning up to 160 miles. The Cypress to Legend line would span up to 49 miles between Hardin and Jefferson counties. While there are multiple routes and route segments under consideration, the final route for each project will be determined by the PUCT as part of the regulatory review process.

“As the communities we serve continue to grow, we have a responsibility to grow with them,” said Eliecer Viamontes, CEO of Entergy Texas. “These investments are about preparing Southeast Texas for what’s next—more families, more businesses, more opportunities. Our goal is to build a resilient grid that customers can count on and a stronger foundation for the region’s future.”

Entergy Texas operates within the , a regional transmission organization that oversees energy planning across 15 U.S. states and Manitoba, Canada. Both the SETEX and Cypress to Legend projects were identified through MISO’s long-range planning process as critical to ensuring reliable and cost-effective service as demand continues to grow. If approved by the PUCT, Cypress to Legend is expected to be in service by 2028, and SETEX is expected to follow in 2029.

These projects are key components of Entergy Texas’ Southeast Texas ϳԹ Plan, also known as STEP Ahead. STEP Ahead is a long-term strategy to power economic growth, strengthen reliability and support vibrant communities across the region. The comprehensive plan includes investments in resiliency, generation, transmission, and distribution to serve one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. Entergy Texas’ continued focus on smart, cost-effective planning has helped keep electricity rates affordable for customers—remaining  for more than a decade.

Stuttgart Industrial Park achieves Entergy Arkansas ‘Select Site’ Certification /news/stuttgart-industrial-park-achieves-entergy-arkansas-select-site-certification Tue, 24 Jun 2025 19:42:09 +0000 /?p=17954 Certification of two industrial sites in Stuttgart marks economic development milestone

Stuttgart, Ark. – The Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce, the Stuttgart Industrial Development Corporation and Entergy Arkansas announced today the completion of its Select Site certification for two industrial sites, one 154-acres site and one 62-acre site, located in the Stuttgart Industrial Park on U.S. Highway 79. Representatives from all organizations along with Mayor Norma King Strabala were on hand to celebrate the achievements.

Select Site is an initiative designed to provide Entergy Arkansas-served communities with a competitive advantage and shovel-ready sites. This developmental and promotional tool allows communities to certify sites using a set of comprehensive and pre-determined criteria to better satisfy site location searches by consultants and companies.

“We have been working diligently on improving the Stuttgart Industrial Park,” said Bethany Hildebrand, President and CEO of the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce. “For the past two years, we were successful in obtaining two significant grants, one from the Economic Development Authority and one from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, that helped us extend water and sewer to the industrial park. This certification is the next step to making these two sites among the top industrial sites in the state.”

Entergy Arkansas Vice President of Business and Economic Development Danny Games was on hand today to recognize the two Stuttgart sites as the newest Entergy Arkansas Select Sites and commended the group on the completion of the comprehensive review and documentation process. A grant was provided by Entergy Arkansas to help offset some of the costs associated with the certifications. The Stuttgart Industrial Park Site 1 and Site 2 will be featured on the Arkansas Site Selection Center. You can view the .

“Certifying a site is not an easy or quick task and certifying two at the same time is an even bigger challenge,” said Games. “Accomplishing these certifications ensures that Stuttgart has timely information on hand to satisfy site location consultants and prospective company inquiries. We are pleased to recognize Stuttgart for achieving this milestone and look forward to featuring the Stuttgart Industrial Park Select Sites on our website and promoting them as our newest certified sites.”

ճSelect Site initiative helps communities better prepare their sites as winning candidates for high-tech, manufacturing and distribution projects with a thorough audit of the site’s readiness for new or expanding business. Through the Select Site program and the Arkansas Site Selection Center, Entergy Arkansas is helping to meet those needs. Other Select Site properties are located in Little Rock, Jefferson County, Newport, Osceola, Russellville, West Memphis, and Wynne.

Rates to remain stable for Entergy Mississippi customers /news/rates-to-remain-stable-for-entergy-mississippi-customers Thu, 19 Jun 2025 19:45:11 +0000 /?p=17956 Based on 2024 data from the U.S. ϳԹ Information Administration, the average annual residential price per kWh is 16.48 cents for the U.S., and 13.21 cents for Entergy Mississippi customers.

Mississippi Public Service Commission approves annual rate plan, keeps bills 20% below national average

JACKSON, Miss. – On June 17, the Mississippi Public Service Commission approved Entergy Mississippi’s annual rate plan to keep energy rates stable and bills 20% below the national average. The plan, taking effect during the July billing cycle, comes as the anticipated summer heat wave will cause customers to increase their energy usage. The typical residential customer using 1,000 kWh per month will have a bill decrease of .04 cents beginning in July, keeping bills stable.

Despite the increased costs required to generate power, maintain infrastructure and provide electrical service, Entergy Mississippi’s annual rate plan offsets those costs and ensures rates remain as flat as possible, while customers’ energy use is at its highest. The company takes several cost-saving actions to achieve this, including:

  • Recruiting new power partners: By bringing new, large customers into our service area, we create a framework that allows us to investment in our infrastructure while lessening the burden for our residential customers.
  • Building an all of the above generation mix: Using a diverse range of power sources helps shield customers from fuel price fluctuations and enhances grid reliability.
  • Modernizing our generation fleet: With new power generation sources in our plans, the modern technologies will allow us to bring cleaner, more efficient and more cost-effective power to Mississippi.
  • Managing fuel costs: Fuel costs are never marked up, so customers pay exactly what we pay. Plus, we’re in a constant state of trying to procure fuel at the lowest price available.

“We’re thankful for the Mississippi Public Service Commission’s continued oversight and support of our efforts to keep rates affordable while making critical reliability improvements and addressing increased challenges caused by vegetation,” said Haley Fisackerly, Entergy Mississippi president and CEO.

The approved plan provides rate stability while also addressing infrastructure upgrades. It includes approximately $525 million related to power quality and reliability improvements, and efforts planned for 2025 to help customers save money through energy efficiency rebates and savings programs.

“It’s more important than ever that our teams work diligently to help keep bills as low as possible, which is why we approach affordability from every angle,” Fisackerly said. “We’re pulling in large customers, so we can direct their funds to modernizing technologies that will benefit all of our customers. And we’re balancing fuel prices, and our generation resources because we know both can fluctuate. We hope this stability will help customers feel some relief from the heat and in their wallets at a time when they need it most.”

As the summer heat rises, customers are reminded that bills are not only impacted by rates, but also energy usage. According to the U.S. ϳԹ Information Administration, cooling costs can make up more than 52% of an average customer’s electric bill. Entergy Arkansas helps customers stay cool and save money this summer /news/entergy-arkansas-helps-customers-stay-cool-and-save-money-this-summer Wed, 04 Jun 2025 19:57:53 +0000 /?p=17972 Easy tips to boost home energy efficiency and lower electric bill costs

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – As summer approaches and temperatures continue to rise, air conditioners will start running full blast and lead to an increase in electricity usage. However, staying cool and comfortable does not have to come at the cost of high energy bills. By making a few simple changes around your home, you can improve its energy efficiency and beat the heat while keeping costs down.

According to the U.S. ϳԹ Information Administration, home heating and cooling costs can make up more than 52% of an average customer’s electric bill. In some cases, poor insulation, air leaks and inefficient HVAC systems can lead to even greater energy costs each year. To keep your home cool without significantly lowering the thermostat and save money on your bill at the same time, try these low-to-no-cost tips.

Improving energy efficiency with low-to-no-cost tips

  • Change air filters. Air filters on some air conditioning units require monthly cleaning or replacing.
  • Set your thermostat to the highest comfortable temperature. The smaller the difference between the inside and outside temperatures, the lower your energy usage and bill will be.
  • Buy a programmable thermostat. A programmable thermostat can help manage costs, is controllable, and can help monitor usage.
  • Use fans to cool off. Ceiling fans, box fans and oscillating fans use very little electricity to circulate the air. Make sure ceiling fans are rotating in the right direction – counter-clockwise during summer – to push cooler air down into the room. Be sure to turn all fans off in unused rooms.
  • Close blinds, shades and curtains to keep the sun out and the cool air in. Also, close air conditioning vents in rooms that are not in use.
  • Seal cracks and holes around doors, windows and ductwork. Weather stripping and caulk will help keep the cold air in and the hot air out.
  • Use the myAdvisorٴǴDZ. The usage and cost tool can compare usage history by month, day and hour.

By following these simple steps, you can stay cool and comfortable all summer long while keeping your bills under control. We also offer free comprehensive residential energy audits and rebates to help reduce the upfront cost of installing energy-efficient equipment.

Exploring resources through Bill Toolkit

To make sure customers have quick access to energy efficiency, bill management and financial assistance resources, Entergy created an online platform called . The platform consolidates helpful resources for customers interested in exploring ways to lower their electric use and costs and learn more about different payment options the company offers.

Tracking energy use through myAdvisor

Meanwhile, customers can set electric usage alerts and monitor how much energy they use each day through bill management tools like myAdvisor which is available through their  account online. Tracking usage over time can help customers identify trends that contribute to higher usage and budget their monthly expenses. With the myAdvisor dashboard, customers have access to not only usage and cost details, but also bill history and projections, analyzer tools and more. On the Entergy mobile app, this information can be found by clicking the “usage” tab.

Managing bills through payment and assistance options

Entergy offers several flexible payment options so customers can choose when, where and how they receive their bills.

  •  allows customers to pay their bills when it works best for them.
  •  allows customers to “level out” seasonal energy use fluctuations, making their bills more consistent every month.
  •  billing allows customers to get their bills emailed as soon as they post and instant access to two years of billing history.
  •  allows customers to avoid late fees, writing checks and paying for postage by having bills automatically deducted from their bank accounts.

Entergy encourages customers who may need additional payment options to reach out. Customers can find out if they qualify for deferred payment arrangements or payment extensions on our mobile app or through DzԱԱ.
