Working alongside community action partners, we engaged lawmakers in discussions to continue and to increase funding for the Low-Income Home 窪蹋勛圖厙 Assistance Program, or LIHEAP. This program helps vulnerable households maintain essential energy services, particularly during extreme weather conditions.

Highlighting customer impact

During LIHEAP Action Day, we conducted 25 meetings with congressional representatives and staff from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, highlighting the direct impact of LIHEAP funding on customers. Our community action partners provided customer testimonials underscoring the critical need for the program and its benefit to low-income households.

Our commitment goes beyond advocacy. We are taking action to ensure our customers receive the support they need, said Sandra Diggs-Miller, Entergy’s vice president of consumer and advocacy programs. Our commitment is reflected not only in our presence on Capitol Hill, but also in our ongoing efforts to provide direct assistance to our customers who need it the most.

Legislators expressed strong bipartisan support for the LIHEAP program and acknowledged its vital role in assisting low-income families. Many also recognized that current funding allocations do not fully meet the demand, leaving many households at risk.

Building on advocacy efforts

To build on the progress made during LIHEAP Day, we will continue to engage with policymakers regarding the programs impact, while strengthening partnerships with advocacy groups and stakeholders to ensure a unified voice in future funding efforts.

Access to affordable energy is a critical issue for millions of households. Entergy is committed to working with federal and local leaders to support policies that provide reliable assistance to customers in need. By continuing to advocate for LIHEAP funding, Entergy reinforces our commitment to ensuring energy security for the most vulnerable communities.

He won third place in the Bot Genius competition and donated the $3,000 win to Entergys The Power to Care program in April.

After winning first place at Automation Anywheres first-ever Bot Genius competition last year, Quick didnt hesitate to participate in this years competition. He also didnt hesitate to share his success with Entergy and its customers.

Entergy invested heavily in the automation program, including providing significant training, and without this investment I wouldnt know how to create a bot, said Quick. There was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to return the favor and support our initiatives by helping our low-income customers.

Quick took home the award for FinBot, a digital and interactive worker that responds to short cycle and specified financial requests from employees. His bot was one of four selected, among dozens, by Automation Anywhere judges before the competition and judged by audience participation at the event.

In addition to the competition, he participated in Automation Anywheres Imagine conference and presented on change management. He plans to teach a class on bot development at Tulane University this summer.

The Power to Care provides utility bill-payment assistance for qualifying low-income elderly and disabled customers. Entergy shareholders double the impact of contributions by matching all donations, up to $500,000.
