Cooler temperatures can increase power usage and bills

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Cooler temperatures are moving through Southeast Texas, meaning some Entergy Texas customers are already turning on heaters to take the chill out of the air. Producing heat requires a lot of electricity, which can drive up your energy usage and bills.

Customers don’t have to compromise comfort to keep winter energy bills down. Entergy Texas’ online connects customers to bill management, energy efficiency and financial assistance resources. This new resource helps our customers explore simple ways they can lower their electricity use and costs.

Bill management resources

Customers can choose when, where and how to pay with our bill management resources, including:

��ⴡ�屹��ǰ��dashboard gives customers an estimate of what projected energy usage costs could be by the end of the billing cycle.
PaperFREE billing allows customers to get their Entergy bill delivered directly to their email as soon as it posts and instant access to two years of billing history.
AutoPay allows customers to avoid late fees, writing checks and paying for postage by having their bill automatically deduct from their bank account.
Pick-A-Date allows customers to take full control of their budget by paying their bill on the date that works best for them.
Level Billing allows customers to “level out” seasonal fluctuations, making their energy bill more consistent every month.

Entergy Texas’ Power to Care Golf Charity Classic raises nearly $500,000 for vulnerable customers

Funds from the sold-out event set a new milestone, doubling last year’s total

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Entergy Texas reached a new fundraising milestone for its customers during The Power to Care Golf Charity Classic, sponsored by Mitsubishi Power. The event brought together more than 200 participants and raised over $245,000—double last year’s total. With Entergy Texas matching customer donations dollar for dollar up to $500,000, this year’s efforts will deliver nearly half a million dollars in relief to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable neighbors facing financial hardship.

“For many families across Southeast Texas, The Power to Care program is more than financial support; it’s a lifeline during challenging times,” said Ryan Magee, public affairs manager at Entergy Texas. “Through the generosity of our sponsors, participants, and donors, we’re helping more than 1,500 households keep their lights on. That’s the power of coming together.”

Since its inception in 1983, The Power to Care program has provided more than $10.6 million in assistance, helping customers pay over 95,000 utility bills. THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The past two summers have brought record-level temperatures to Southeast Texas, which led to and higher costs on monthly bills. Entergy Texas is committed to helping our customers stay cool and save money this summer with bill management tools and customer assistance events.

Entergy’s newly launched online is a one-stop shop that connects customers to bill management, energy efficiency and financial assistance resources. This new resource helps our customers explore simple ways to lower electricity use and costs.¬†

“With the heat index in Southeast Texas continuously reaching above 100 degrees this summer, we understand that many of our customers are using more power to stay cool, often for extended periods of time” said Stuart Barrett, vice president of customer service at Entergy Texas. “Since cooling and heating costs can account for more than 50% of an average customer’s monthly electric bill, we created our Bill Toolkit as a resource to make it easier for customers to effectively manage energy usage and offer assistance to those who need a little extra financial help.”

Bill management tools like empower our customers to set electricity usage alerts and monitor how much energy they use each day. Tracking electricity use over time can help customers identify habits that contribute to higher use and budget their monthly expenses. With the myAdvisor dashboard, customers have access to usage and cost details, bill history, bill projections, analyzer tools and more.

Entergy Texas recently hosted a series of measures through its annual Beat the Heat program, which focuses on helping low-income customers and communities stay cool and pay their bills. In June of this year, the company donated 2,000 box fans to 36 cities and agencies across Southeast Texas, an increase from the 1,300 box fans distributed in 2023. Additionally, the company organized energy efficiency neighborhood sweeps events that offered complimentary A/C tune-ups and energy efficiency upgrades to residents in the Port Arthur and Navasota areas of our service territory.

Entergy Texas launches child savings account program

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Entergy Texas is excited to kick off a new child savings account program to help low- and moderate-income Texas families establish child savings accounts for post-secondary education. The first 1,300 eligible families who open Kids to College accounts will receive a $50 savings match from Entergy.¬†¬†

“Kids to College is an investment in the future of our young people and Texas,” said Eliecer Viamontes, president and CEO, Entergy Texas. “With these funds, not only are we ensuring the next generation is set up for success, but we are also helping deliver a brighter future for the communities in which we all live and serve.”¬†

A child savings account is a savings account designed specifically for post-secondary education. These accounts allow families to put money away for their children to attend a two- or four-year college, trade school or technical school.¬†¬†

As a corporate leader and service provider, Entergy believes in the dreams of the families we serve. Everyone deserves the opportunity to continue their education, and we want to partner with families to help make those dreams a reality. When a family plans for their child’s future by setting aside funds for college, that child is four times more likely to earn a degree.¬†¬†

Families may sign up for a Kids to College account for any child under age 16. Eligibility requirements to qualify for Entergy’s $50 match include:¬†

Must be an Entergy customer.¬†
Families must meet annual income thresholds of either $52,000 for single parent or guardian households, or $60,000 for dual-earner households.¬†
