September is National Preparedness Month, and with the most active stretch of hurricane season underway, we are reminding customers to take steps now to protect their families, homes and businesses from major storms and other emergencies.

“For Entergy, storm preparedness is not seasonal—it’s part of our year-round commitment to enhance the grid,” said Dakin DuBroc, vice president incident response. “As we mark the 20th anniversary of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, it is a stark reminder that August through October can produce the most destructive storms. Since September is also National Preparedness Month, we are reminding our customers how important it is to take time now to prepare.”

Building back stronger for decades
Aug. 29 marked 20 years since hurricanes Katrina and Rita slammed into the Gulf Coast. Those storms taught us hard lessons that continue to shape our industry-leading storm response. We know our customers live in areas prone to some of the most severe weather in the country, and we are continuing to accelerate investments to strengthen our grid to reduce service interruptions while refining our award-winning restoration capabilities.

“We’re stronger because of where we have been,” said DuBroc. “Over the last two decades, we’ve invested in our communities, our people, storm plans and our infrastructure to help ensure the places we call home are more resilient than ever.”
