LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Entergy is proud to invest in the future of higher education by awarding $5,000 scholarships to nine outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in Arkansas. Through the Power of Prosperity program, Entergy seeks to help remove barriers to students’ academic success by providing free access to financial assistance and resources to the institution supporting the student.

Through Power of Prosperity, Entergy has committed $20 million over the next decade to HBCUs and minority-serving institutions across the Gulf South which is the bulk of its service area. This initial round of scholarships were awarded to students studying computer science, information technology, artificial intelligence or cybersecurity as part of Entergy’s Power of Prosperity program.

“These young leaders represent the future of innovation in the technology sector, and Entergy Arkansas is proud to support their journey,” said Ventrell Thompson, vice president of customer service. “Investing in students at HBCUs and other minority-serving institutions is not only an investment in education — it’s an investment in workforce development.”
