Crews are continuing to assess damages and restore power where it is safe to do so after Hurricane Delta exited the state Saturday morning.

Entergy Mississippi Hurricane Delta Restoration Update – 10/10/20 @ 7 p.m.

The remnants of Hurricane Delta caused widespread power outages throughout the Entergy Mississippi service territory.  Thunderstorms, heavy rains and high winds impacted our customers throughout the day Saturday.  As of this report, over 25,000 customers are without power, down from over 50,000 this morning.  Additional resources have mobilized to assist with damage assessment and the restoration where possible. We are working to respond to outages safely, while practicing social distancing measures needed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hurricane Delta made landfall as a Category 2 storm Friday evening (Oct. 9) near Creole, Louisiana, with winds approaching 100 mph. As it moved inland, the storm weakened to a Category 1 and then to a tropical storm.

Entergy Mississippi Hurricane Delta Restoration Update – 10/10/20 @ 12:30 p.m.

The remnants of Hurricane Delta caused widespread power outages throughout the Entergy Mississippi service territory. Thunderstorms, heavy rains and high winds will continue to impact our customers throughout the day Saturday. As of noon, about 40,000 customers are without power. We are working to respond to outages safely, while practicing social distancing measures needed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Entergy System Hurricane Delta Restoration Update – 10/10/20 @ 10 a.m.

Hurricane Delta made landfall Friday evening near Creole, Louisiana, as a Category 2 storm causing more than 483,000 power outages for Entergy customers. As it moved inland, the storm weakened to a Category 1 and then to a tropical storm. However, despite its weakening, Delta is still producing damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and a risk of isolated tornadoes. Outages are expected to increase today as the storm continues moving through our service territory.
