Biodiversity

Investing where it makes a difference

We invest in the critical foundations of our communities to create thriving places to call home, now and for future generations.

Entergy works to fully comply with all environmental regulations including those that govern wildlife conservation, as stated in our commitment to biodiversity.

That commitment describes our strategy to support, conserve and restore biodiversity habitat, wetlands and local natural resources.

Since 2011, we have created a more avian-friendly environment by retrofitting older distribution lines that have documented avian impacts, implementing new distribution avian construction standards and replacing insulators on transmission structures. Our avian wildlife protection standard can be viewed here.

Protecting our natural resources

Entergy partners with community organizations to support wetlands restoration and reforestation. We’ve recently exceeded our five-year goals for these initiatives.

Since 2018, Entergy has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to provide free trees to customers. Customers receive their trees with planting instructions for optimizing energy benefits and avoiding Entergy equipment like overhead lines. The partnership provides long-term benefits for our communities.

Small changes, big impact

This Earth Day, remember that the choices we make at home can shape the future of our planet. Every light you turn off, every energy-efficient upgrade you make and every small habit you change can have a real impact—not just on your home but on the entire city. The power is in your hands.
